ILLINOIS TOLLWAY DEBUTS NEW INTERACTIVE TRIP CALCULATOR
New website feature designed to take the guesswork out of Tollway travel
DOWNERS GROVE, IL – The Illinois Tollway has added an easy-to-use Trip Calculator to its website that allows customers to select specific start and end points on an interactive map of the Tollway system and then calculates tolls along the designated route. The Trip Calculator was designed to help two types of Tollway customers: those who are planning trips and others with unpaid tolls.
First, the new feature will simplify research for drivers who are planning a trip on the Tollway and need to determine what their costs will be in advance of their trip. Second, the new feature will help customers who are unfamiliar with the Tollway identify exactly where they may have missed a toll and then direct them to the section of the website where they can make a payment.
More than 80,000 customers make unpaid toll payments online every month. “The Trip Calculator is the easiest way for our customers to get clear, accurate information about the toll rates on our system,” said Illinois Tollway Executive Director Kristi Lafleur. “It allows customers to customize their travels on the Tollway and access the information they need with a few simple mouse clicks.”
In addition to identifying specific routes, the Trip Calculator highlights the route and toll plazas on the map and provides a listing of each toll plaza, the toll rate for each location and total tolls for the trip.
Drivers can request toll rates for various types of vehicles, including cars and trucks, and indicate if payment will be made using I-PASS or cash. Toll rates vary by road, toll plaza and ramp, so the Trip Calculator also offers drivers the ability to view toll rate listings by clicking on individual toll plaza locations highlighted on the map of the Tollway system. In addition, the new feature also allows drivers to view Tollway Oases locations and service information and access lane closure updates for each of the Tollway’s four roads.

I don't need a trip calculator to remind how I'm being ripped off every time I have to use the tollway. Another waste of our money by one most poorly administered and managed agencies in our poorly administered and managed state!
