Illinois Sheriff's Office Offering Scholarships

One DuPage County resident will be selected to receive for a $500 scholarship.

Sheriff John E. Zaruba and the Illinois Sheriff’s Association are offering a $500 scholarship to  residents pursuing higher education in the 2012-2013 school year.

The money must be applied to tuition, books or fees only. The scholarship recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student at a certified institution of higher learning in Illinois. One recipient from Dupage County will be chosen. 

The limitations are as follows:

  • Applicants must be permanent Illinois residents
  • Applications must be submitted to the Sheriff’s Office in the county of your permanent residence.
  • Scholarships must be used at institutions of higher learning within the State of Illinois
  • Students must be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2012-2013 school year (excluding summer session).

Those interested can pick up an application Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the DuPage County Sheriff’s Administration Office, located at 501 North County Farm Road in Wheaton or at www.dupagesheriff.org

Students must complete the application, answer the essay question and return all documentation to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office by March 12.
