Commitment to Youth

I feel confident in saying that my commitment to the youth of Woodridge is unsurpassed among mayoral candidates. The formation of the Woodridge Youth Commission is one of the ways I plan on continuing that commitment in the future. You can get a look at the Youth Commission here - http://www.mikekrucek4mayor.com/plans.

To get a true measure of my commitment to our kids here are some highlights of what I’ve already worked on.

Initiated, planned and organized the first Career Day at Jefferson Jr. High, continuing to run it successfully for 9 years in a row.

Participating in Junior Achievement classes in School District 68, teaching as many as ten per year.

Coached girl’s softball in the Woodridge Park District for the past 7 years.

Along with the above I’ve volunteered on many occasions over the years at District 68 Schools, Downers Grove South, the Seven Bridges Children’s Fun Run and more. This time spent actively involved in the schools has helped to give me a great working relationship with our school districts, a relationship that I will use to make sure we work together to lower taxes and work more efficiently. I also look forward to establishing the same relationship with the other school districts that serve Woodridge.

As always I look forward to any comments or questions.

Mike is excellent with the youth in Woodridge. He was my daughter's softball coach last season, and her absolute favorite out of the 6 years she has played. He is an outstanding leader and would be the very best choice for Mayor. His commitment to our town and our youth is outstanding!

Hi Mike, Did you hear about the Bolingbrook permit being sought by UFCC - right across the street from Cypress Cove and the target for future WPD expansion. There is a discussion thread going on Patch - check it out - with your commitment to youth - here is a ripe opportunity to help provide leadership to a group of very concerned citizens. Here is a link to that discussion thread, hope you can chime in?: http://woodridge.patch.com/blog_posts/ultimate-faith-church

I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Krucek at the St. Scholastica Boy Scout Spaghetti dinner. I have been a Cubmaster for 5 years, and after being introduced, he ignored me and he didn't seem interested in speaking with me at all. For someone who claims to be interested in the Youth, I don't seem to have any confidence with him as a candidate in this regard.
