We endorse whole heartedly Gina for Mayor of Woodridge. She has a wonderful track record and is a great person.
From Fran and Paul Norris:
We have known Gina for over 20 years. Have worked with her through several Banks as a customer and with her at the Woodridge Chamber of Commerce. She is the most giving person we know and always puts others before herself. She has shown leadership in the Chamber and all the other organizations she is part of. As a board member of the Woodridge Food Pantry and as a Village Trustee she is always willing to lead and help our community.
From Jim Hutto:
We love her .... Gina has my heart felt appreciation for all of her selfless contributions and dedication she has provided for the citizens of Woodridge.

Gina,
You are Trustee in village board and I attended many Village of Woodridge meetings but in most of meeting neither you actively participate in debate nor you have responded to Village of Woodridge residences concerns and also never come across any incidents where you disagree with mayor nor question mayor's decision (you follow whatever Mayor Murphy decide). I know many village residences I spoke with don’t agree with lots of mayor Murphy’s decision. Therefore, most likely you will follow Mayor Murphy’s footsteps. would you please, let us know what you would do different from Mayor Murphy?

Good Afternoon and Happy Holidays, Adrian.
Thank you for your question and the opportunity to respond to you. My priority, along with the Village Board and Mayor collectively, is our residents and our business community. In trying to do the best for Woodridge and the business community, we (Mayor and Board Members) very often agree and the best course of action is clear. As a result we often vote similarly.
There are, however, times when we respectfully disagree. The majority vote wins and together we move forward with the outcome of the vote. The Mayor only votes in cases of a tie or if a quorum is required.
I respect Mayor Murphy and his dedicated 32 years of leadership in Woodridge…he is a committed leader with great vision and care for Woodridge.
If there are specific issues that you would like me to respond to, I would be happy to address your concerns.
Best to you,
Gina Cunningham-Picek

Thanks Gina. Please, help me understand how it is best for Woodridge when every single residences of Woodridge who attended case of having Edward Don Warehouse by Woodward Ave rejected the proposal and raise many concerns still you guys approved it. Plus construction was already started before Village meeting that means builder already knew outcome of that meeting beforehand. It was fixed. Just for revenue of $214K/year for budget of 35-40 million dollars (village budgets) which is about 0.006%. Seriously??
Hiring consultant for Golf course without taking any feedback from Village Residences. I can give you many more similar examples where village board members didn’t listen to residences concerns except few members and sorry to say but Gina your name was NOT in the exception list.

Adrian ... if you want to be on the Village Board and do a better job, then you better file today as this is the last day to submit your petition at the Village Hall. All of our Village Trustees do a darn good job!

Henry
If Village Trustees can’t answer two simple questions from Woodridge residence, how good she is to be mayor of village? This is perfect example that she doesn’t address residence(s) concerns and village residence is not her main priority. What is point of being Village Trustees if you are not going to keep your eye open to see pain of village residence and ear open to listen to their problem/concerns? Henry…I apologize if I sound little frustrated but I still remember those village hall meetings where residences were crying and kindly requesting to consider their genuine concerns. Even one of Village Trustees said “The process was completely unfair for residence” but it seems like result of meeting was pre-defined, village hall meeting was just formality that they had to follow. I encourage you to see recording/transcript of these meetings and I am absolutely sure that you will see what I am talking about?

Still chuckling over the campaign manager's response of "if you want to be on the Village Board and do a better job, then you better file today . . ". How about leaving the playground theatrics out of it and just answering the question? The same question was posed to candidate, Mike Krucek, and he managed to answer concisely and professionally.

Ms. Moore:
Totally agree with you - there is no room for "playground theatrics" as this is a very serious issue and an important election process that is underway. I would therefore stress that no one should be so judgmental as to infer that our Village Trustees "fixed" the outcome of any village business. Mr. Adrian did not use the same type of accusation aimed at Mr. Krucek - only at our Village elected Trustees - thus my comment.

Good Evening, Adrian.
I feel it is important to share with you my genuine concern and care for our residents, businesses and community. I have lived in Woodridge since 1967 and I have worked in Woodridge since 1984 (with exception of 4 years when I moved because of my husband’s job). Woodridge is my hometown and the town that I love!
I want to first express that I know how difficult this was for all concerned. I also know that when there is a new development in a community; concerns often arise. As a member of the Village Board, first elected in 1999, any time there is a development being proposed, we receive extensive information to review along with the Plan Commissions recommendations. As elected officials, we are entrusted to balance the interests of our residents who live in an area with the overall benefits to our community in terms of jobs, revenues as well as the rights of the property owners. I compassionately listened to every resident. I believe that because of the input of residents at the meeting you refer to, several beneficial actions took place. Specifically, we set a higher-standard of landscaping for the development, we increased transitional buffers, screened the loading dock to the west side of the development and have specific truck traffic requirements in place. In addition, prior to any future development taking place at Union Pointe, the residents who expressed interest (in 2011) and want to be notified of any meetings, will be notified. The process was changed to insure residents are included in meetings regarding future development planning. This is a process change that I welcome. At the Board Meeting, I did speak and raised questions and supported additional and increased plantings (trees and shrubs) along Woodward and the parkway to increase buffers for the homeowners. Lastly, it is important to provide some financial information regarding this development. The Village estimates that over the next 30 years, it will receive approximately $29 Million from utility/property taxes and sales taxes. Annually, the other Woodridge Taxing Bodies will receive $1.1 Million from property tax revenues once fully developed.
Thank you and I hope that this provides additional background information as well as answers your questions, Adrian.
I apologize for the length of my response.
Sincerely,
Gina Cunningham Picek

Why would you vote YES to increase property tax when people are suffering with bad economy? Instead of promoting spending cut like hiring consultant. Based on my research you have voted YES to increase property tax many times.
