Why would you vote YES to increase property tax when people are suffering with bad economy? Instead of promoting spending cut like hiring consultant. Based on my research you have voted YES to increase property tax many times.

Why did you support hiring an expensive consultant for the golf course study? Is that how you are going to lead the Village?

Dear Woodridge Residents .... Have you ever wondered why the critics of "Gina for Mayor" never identify themselves fully. What are they hiding from that they won't use their full name? Why are they placing a comment using my name (misspelled) ... everyone has a right to post a comment - however, if you believe your comment to be true and factual then please use your own full name so we all know who you are. There's an old saying .... when you live in a glass house - don't throw rocks!

Henry, seriously? These questions are coming from village residences and answer of these questions has nothing to do with having full name or misspelled name. Looks like good trick to off track people from reality and serious question/issues. If GINA care about village residence, what is stopping her to answer these questions? If she is going to hire someone to run her campaign, that person better have knowledge of her standing on raising property tax and voting YES on issue where majority of village residence don't agree....Please, come back with better answer Henry..

Adrian-seriously Mr & Mrs Woodridge can see right through you.... A supporter of Krucek and a golfer who are trying with misrepresentations to make Gina into something other than what she is-a dedicated resident. Check out your facts your self before you go down the path of Village taxes.....go back 5 years, 10 years15years etc. and you will see VILLAGE tax rates and totals are not what you are insinuating. The Village tax is one of the smallest-on your tax bill-the biggest Community High School District 99, Scool District 68, the Fire Districts and the Woodridge Park District

A lot of folks are sorry to see Mayor Murphy retire. Dont worry Gina is his puppet so things will be just the way they are now.

Will the person who is impersonnating me please use your own name. If you feel that strong about your comments then let our Village residents know who you really are - if your too afraid then I would urge our residents to take note that these are just dirty campaign tactics condoned by their candidate - and we all know who that is.

Full Name : Adrian Alonso. I am village residence for past 13 Years. These questions are real concern from me and many of my neighbors. I am asking these questions to Gina who is running for Mayor election. Therefore, let her respond. Let me guess she doesn't have time or she don't think it is important to answer village residences concern. Evelyn, all of us are dedicated resident of village, that does mean she/he is good candidate for Mayor of Woodridge....

In response to your question Adrian regarding my voting for tax increases, I will provide some background:

Until 2010, the tax rate was going down in Woodridge. The rate was decreasing because the EAV (Equalized Assessed Valuation) was increasing and the Village was collecting more in sales taxes and real estate transfer taxes. Since then, until this year, the Village tax rate increased slightly to respond to an increased need to offset declining EAVs, sales taxes and real estate transfer taxes. The Village did pass tax increases requested by the Library. I believe that the Library provides outstanding services to Woodridge. They serve as an excellent resource for our community and provide extensive and needed educational services. I respect the Elected Board of the Library for their diligent service on behalf of our community. In December (2012) the Library Board recommended an increase of 2.6% ($90,000) for continued building maintenance (roof, etc.) and to cover rising insurance costs. Increasing taxes is never easy, but at times it is a necessity and fiscally responsible in the long-run and potentially saving Woodridge Taxpayers in the end.

The consultant for the Golf Course Study resulted from the estimates that the replacement/repairs of the Irrigation System and Maintenance Building would be between $2-2.5M. (This was in the very-early discussion stage.) There was need to understand the scope of work and the timeline of when the repair work was needed. After gathering all the facts, I favored the Park District doing the study and they did an outstanding job. I am glad that through working together, the Park District and the Village achieved the best results.

I invite you, Adrian, to meet with me if you would like to discuss your concerns in person. We could meet prior to the next Village Board on January 24 (Thursday) at the Village Hall anytime after 7:00 PM. I would welcome meeting. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Gina Cunningham-Picek
