What is the primary reason you are running for this office? I am running for Mayor because I want to contribute and help make Woodridge a great place to live. Woodridge, like many towns, is facing significant financial challenges that will not be going away. For too long, government’s answer has been to simply raise property taxes. I want to help make government more efficient so that the Village can continue to deliver core services at the highest level without raising taxes. What will be your single most important priority if you get elected? My main priority will be to reduce property taxes without compromising excellent public service. What is the primary reason you are running for this office? My wife and I have enjoyed living in Woodridge for over 10 years and have two young children. We love our community and all the great things it has to offer, it is important to me to keep Woodridge a safe and inviting place to raise a family. As a Father, a Business Man and a Plan Commissioner I feel like I can contribute to our great community. I believe in strong family values, embracing diversity and exercising fiscal responsibility. Woodridge Village Clerk Eileene Nystrom has filed for re-election and she is running uncontested. She was first elected clerk in 2001 and served as deputy clerk for 23 years before that. Nystrom has lived in Woodridge since 1967 and has been active in various service organizations in Woodridge, including the Woodridge Special Events Committee since 1979. She is an active member and served as president of the Municipal Clerks of DuPage County and the League of Women Voters of Woodridge, Downers Grove and Lisle. Early voting begins March 25. What is the primary reason you are running for this office? I am running again in order to continue to provide the residents of the district with the quality facilites, parks, and progams, that they expect at the lowest possible cost. What will be your single most important priority if you get elected? The highest priorty of the Park District at this time is the financing and construction of the Athletic Recreation Center (ARC) in the Janes avenue location that will improve that area of the community and provide much needed programing space for our residents. What is the primary reason you are running for this office? I have always felt strongly about giving back to your community. All three of my children benefited from the excellent educational opportunities they received while going through the Woodridge 68 school system. Other concerned citizens volunteered their time and efforts guiding the District during those years and now I feel it is my turn to give current students those same excellent educational opportunities. I was first elected to the Board in 2005 and have been the School Board President for the last two years. Jeff Cortez has been a resident of Woodridge School District 68 since 1998 and is currently serving his second term of office on the Board of Education. Cortez holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Illinois in Urbana and is currently the operations manager for FKI Logistex's midwest regional office. He has also been active in the Woodridge Soccer Association for many years both as a past board member and coach. He and his wife Deborah are parents of two children and reside in the Meadowview School attendance area. He has been a board member since 2005.

Greg Abbottt-current Trustee and running for Mayor-Joe Kagan & Dave Pittinger-current Trustees, with Kagan running for re-election-all voted AGAINST the Library Levy for $90,000.
