More About St. Scholastica Parish
St. Scholastica is a Catholic parish and school located on Janes Avenue. The parish serves 2,800 member families. There are 300 students in its school and 600 students in its Religious Education Program. St. Scholastica began in June of 1962, when Father John Kloepfer was assigned by the Diocese of Joliet to serve as pastor of the church. St. Scholastica held its services in Woodridge School gymnasium, sharing the space with the also newly-formed Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. St. Scholastica school began in the same year in two rented houses on Janes Avenue, serving grades one through three. The current church was completed in 1980 and underwent an expansion that was completed in 1990. The church is currently under the leadership of Fr. Gerald Riva.
