DuPage County Fair; 'The Goonies' for Movies Under the Moon

Here’s some of what’s going on in and around Woodridge this weekend, Friday-Sunday, July 26-28: 

·      It’s DuPage County Fair weekend! The fair is one of the biggest DuPage County events of the summer, and has already kicked off at the DuPage County Fairgrounds (2015 Manchester Road, Wheaton.) One new event this year is the Spirits of DuPage beer- and wine-tasting on Friday. And of course, Sunday is the demolition derby. Find all information on the fair’s website!

·      Friday night at 8:45 p.m. is the Woodridge Park District’s “Movies Under the Moon” in Castaldo Park at 3024 71st Street. Friday’s movie will be The Goonies, the classic 1980’s adventure story. Bonus: “Come early to concessions to get your hands on a cake pop that looks like Sloth (while supplies last)!”

·      Then on Sunday, the Park District is hosting a Mardi Gras Family Fun Day at Cypress Cove (8301 James Avenue) from noon-4 p.m. The district writes: “Join us for a Mardi Gras-themed day of fun with the family! There will be games for all ages, prizes, and lunch specials.”
