End-of-Life Seminar at Woodridge Library

Here’s some of what’s going on in and around Woodridge for Tuesday, Aug. 6: 

·       Woodridge Public Library (3 Plaza Drive, Woodrige) is hosting the seminar “Oh, Just Bury Me in the Backyard!” at 7:00 p.m., featuring speaker/writer/counselor Loretta Downs, who “uses humor and stories to talk about death and dying… This uplifting and inspiring presentation will bring peace and meaning to the end-of-life issues we all face, help us talk about these issues, and allow us to participate in care planning.” Read more and register at the Library website.

·      “The Woodridge Junior Woman's Club invites all local women to our Membership Social! It will be held on Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Village Greens Golf Course Clubhouse with free appetizers and a cash bar. We look forward to meeting some new women and to share what we have done and plan to do this year to benefit our community!”

·      The Downers Grove Park District's Family Concert Series will continue at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Veterans Memorial Pavilion in Fishel Park, located on Grove Street west of Main Street in Downers Grove. This week's concert will feature Chicago Tribute Anthology, a seven-piece horn band dedicated to performing the music of the band Chicago.
