Representative Sandack to Serve on Council on Aging

SPRINGFIELD….. State Representative Ron Sandack (R-Downers Grove) has been appointed to serve on the Illinois Council on Aging, an advisory body that assists the State’s Department on Aging.

The Council on Aging reviews and comments on reports by the Department on Aging to the Governor and to the General Assembly, and reviews and comments on the Department’s State Plan and on all disbursements of public funds by the Department to private agencies.

“It’s an honor to receive this appointment, and I’m looking forward to taking an active role in assisting with the important work of the Department on Aging,” said Sandack. “The Department is tasked with the critical job of helping older Illinoisans live independently in their own homes and communities with a high quality of life. As the population ages, services and programs for this growing segment of the population must evolve as well.”

Members are to represent all geographic sections of the state and both political parties. The remaining members are members of the General Assembly – two senators appointed by the President of the Senate, two appointed by the Senate Minority Leader, two appointed by the Speaker of the House and two appointed by the House Minority Leader.
