4,000 Turn Out for 2013 Woodridge Jubilee Festival

Plus, check out a massive 284-image photo gallery from the Woodridge Park District of the festivities!

The 30th annual Jubilee Festival, held in Woodridge last week from Thursday, June 13 through Sunday, June 16 — after a delayed opening due to Wednesday night storms — drew about 4,000 people to the Town Centre, Lake Carleton Park and the surrounding area, the Suburban Life reports.

The Woodridge Park District uploaded a 284-image photo gallery of the event to Flickr, featuring snapshots of kids, adults and families having a blast at the carnival, from riding the amusements to getting their faces painted.

"We really focus on the event for our community," Megan Pettit, the Woodridge Park District's public relations manager, told the paper. "There are things to do with the whole family during the day and the evenings are popular with the adults...It's not overcrowded and it's a relaxed environment."
