UMC Hosts Workshop "Lent and Easter from Matthew"

Mark your calendar for the January event, at Woodridge United Methodist Church, 2700 75th St., Woodridge Illinois. It's January 15, 9:30 to noon.

You're very welcome to come no matter where you are along the journey of Biblical Storytelling from beginner to teacher, and we guarantee you'll learn a short text in five minutes! If you'd like the challenge, take part in the Epic Telling.

The Epic Telling will be taken from the Revised Common Lectionary's Matthew texts for Lent, beginning with Jan. 30. The enrichment workshop will be Using Storytelling in Ministry. That's a huge topic, but we'll begin by sharing how we all use the art in all ministry, not just worship. Come hear about a pilot project to teach Biblical storytelling to young folks to combat violence and depression.
