Woodridge Jubilee Schedule of Events Announced

The Jubilee will be held from Wednesday, June 13, to Sunday, June 17.

It's almost time for the 2012 Woodridge Jubilee. 

largest special event will run Wednesday, June 13, through Sunday, June 17. The Jubilee features entertainment, food vendors and a beer tent Thursday through Saturday evenings, a carnival Wednesday through Sunday and fireworks on Saturday evening.

This summer’s entertainment lineup features a variety of music genres. Thursday night will feature the country band Back Country Roads at 6:30 p.m., followed by the popular Dave Matthews tribute band Trippin’ Billies at 8:30 p.m. Friday night will feature Deep Six, a modern, classic and alternative rock band at 7 p.m., followed by Heartache Tonight, an Eagles cover band, at 9 p.m. On Saturday night, the entertainment will begin at 5 p.m. with Hurricane Gumbo, a Zydeco band. The rock group, K. Michaels Band, will play at 7 p.m. and Woodridge’s own Journey cover band, Infinity, will wrap up the evening at 9 p.m.

Several new activities, along with some annual favorites, will entertain families with children of all ages on Saturday from 12-5 p.m. New this year is a roaming balloon twister and magician, the Jungle Bus, the Aerial Storm Circus Act and toy and game demos. Returning activities include the Home Depot Kid’s Workshop, face painter, temporary tattoos, petting zoo, organization fair and inflatables.

The fishing derby will make a return this year from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 16 at Lake Harriet. The cost is $4 per person and each person must supply their own poles and bait.

Hours 

Wednesday and Thursday: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Friday: 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. 

Saturday: 12 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. 

Sunday: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

Cost 

Admission is free to the Woodridge Jubilee. Tickets and wristbands will be available for purchase only on the day of the event.

I wish they would leave Woodridge Dr. open, at least until the Jubilee starts. I understand they have to close it then, but it seems pointless to take a detour today when thery are just putting up tents and fences.
