BOLINGBROOK

PROMENADE BOLINGBROOK MAIN STREET SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

WHAT: As a tie-in with the , the summer concert series offer entertainment for visitors out to shop at the Promenade. Every Thursday evening, the free series provide live music from cover bands like Jamrose, Crown Vics, Five Gys Named Moe, Hip Hugger and more.

FLICK-N-FLOAT

WHAT: Channahon Park District hosts a Flick and Float event, where participants can watch How to Train Your Dragon while spending the evening at the Aquatic Center and enjoying the treats and refreshments from the concession stand.

WHAT: Darien's Concerts in the Park introduces new bands like J & T and brings back favorites like The Sensations, mixing genres and musical tastes, for all audiences to enjoy each month.

NAPERVILLE MUNICIPAL BAND

WHAT: Every week the Naperville Municipal Band plays their classic repertoire for the audience. At each concert, a drawing for four $25 gift certificates will also be held.

NAPERVILLE SUMMER NIGHTS

WHAT: A Rocket to the Moon and State and Madison come to Naper Settlement as one of Naperville's newest cultural events. Aiming to please the teen crowd, the event was planned by the Naper Settlement's Punch Club, a group of young professionals working with the Naper Settlement and the Naperville Heritage Society.

ROLLIN' ON THE RIVER

CHILDREN'S LUNCH-HOUR ENTERTAINMENT

WHAT: A concert series just for the young or the young at heart, the lunch-hour entertainment series features not only live music, but magic shows and other fun acts as well.

WHAT:  keeps the weekend lively with free Sunday concerts at parks around the area, featuring a variety of cover bands and also offers ice cream from  for purchase.

2011 SUMMER OF SEQUELS MOVIE SERIES

WHAT: This summer, it's all about sequels. Plainfield's movie series brings the free family-friendly films, Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, to Settlers' Park, presented by the Plainfield Park District and Harris Bank.

ROCKIN' THE VILLE

WHAT: This summer's Rockin' the Ville Summer Concert Series brings the bands Hey Jimmy, Yard Fulla Cars and The Neverly Brothers to Romeoville. Sponsored by DuPage Township, the series will also offer concessions and refreshments.

WHEN: 7 to 9 p.m., July 21, Aug. 18, and Sept. 15

MOVIES UNDER THE STARS

WHAT: The village is offering free screenings of popular movies once a month through the end of August. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket and enjoy a movie on a large screen.

WHEN: Pre-movie activities start at 7:30 p.m., followed by the movie at 9:15 p.m. Next up: Elf on July 27 and Toy Story 3 on Aug. 26.

MOVIES UNDER THE MOON

WHAT: Every month, the  brings the community together to watch family-friendly movies in the evening. In July, a showing of Yogi Bear allows participants to donate a canned good in exchange for a free bag of popcorn, with the final basket of canned goods donated to the West Suburban Community Pantry. Then in August, make sure to catch Toy Story 3 and enjoy the show.

WHAT: With a lineup including Swing Assembly, Pamela Rose and Windy City Country, and more, Woodbridge's summer concert series invites visitors to enjoy everything from country classics and rock and roll oldies to jazz and today's hit music.
