“Hurricane Gumbo” Performs Fundraiser Concert to Benefit SEASPAR

SEASPAR will present Hurricane Gumbo in concert on Thursday, April 28 at the Tivoli Theatre, 5021 Highland Avenue, Downers Grove. Ticket cost is $20 per person. Concert proceeds benefit SEASPAR. This exciting fundraiser concert features The Judges’ Nite Band, with their good times rock and roll performing at 6:30 p.m. and Hurricane Gumbo at 8:00 p.m. Hurricane Gumbo is an eight-piece, Chicago-based band that combines zydeco, rhythm & blues, jazz and funk to produce a sound that can only be called one thing – Louisiana party music. Featuring the music of Dr. John, Neville Brothers, Funky Meters, Chubby Carrier, Edgar Winter, Terrence Simien, Bobby Rush, Little Feet, Radiators, and so on...not to mention some tasty originals. With Hurricane Gumbo, the party never stops. That is why one reviewer calls it “without a doubt, one of the best and liveliest party-bands anywhere”… because with Hurricane Gumbo, it’s all Mardi Gras, all of the time.

The concert’s opening act is The Judge’s Nite Band. The JNB was formed 44 years ago by members of the DuPage County Bar Association for the express purpose of performing musical spoofs of songs designed to poke fun at the DuPage County Judiciary in a show aptly named "Judge's Nite." Most members of the band have deep roots in Downers Grove and DuPage County. The band members are made up mostly of licensed, practicing attorneys and one sitting Circuit Court Judge. Patrons of Scarletti’s Italian Kitchen and Gatto’s Restaurant & Bar, located in downtown Downers Grove, who present their concert tickets on the night of the event will have 10% of their dinner bill donated to SEASPAR.
