Woodridge Public Library to Host Congressional District Art Reception April 29
The Woodridge Public Library will display entries in this year’s Congressional Art Competition being held by U.S. Representative Judy Biggert. Biggert is the representative from the 13th U.S. Congressional District which includes Woodridge. The Congressional Art Competition started in 1982 and provides an opportunity for Members of Congress to showcase the artistic talents of high school students in their districts. Student entries will be hung in the Woodridge Library Gallery on Wednesday, April 25 with the winner being announced at a reception on Sunday, April 29. The winning artwork will go on to be hung in the Capitol Building in Washington, D. C. for a year. Representative Biggert will attend the reception for artists and the public and announce the winner at 3 p.m.
Entries will only be on display from Wednesday, April 25th through Sunday the 29thth during regular Library hours.
