Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Woodridge Area Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday they will merge, creating a new chamber entity.
Both boards of directors are confident the alliance will mean "tremendous value" for the area businesses. The alliance will also create economies of scale and efficiencies, legislative leverage and competencies as well as a larger base of business for members, according to a release from the Downers Grove Area Chamber.
“It’s all about value to the Membership; business has no borders and putting these two successful organizations together will be a great boon to the current Chambers’ Membership and the future Chamber Members," said Marc Hausmann, Executive Committee member and long time Director of the Downers Grove Area Chamber.
The membership will begin to benefit from some enhancements immediately, such as joint events, increased marketing exposures and a larger client base.
“I am excited about the impact that this alliance will have to our Members who will be kept informed through special meetings, website postings, newsletters, etc.,” said Dan Coil, Chairman of the Woodridge Area Chamber of Commerce.
Both organizations intend to maintain a physical presence in their specific Villages and will ensure that all their members will easily fold into the new entity, once created.
