Letter: Village Lauds Local Business Community

In 2012, several Woodridge businesses moved into larger spaces.

Editor's note: The following is a news release from the Village of Woodridge.

In 2012 Woodridge experienced several existing businesses in the Village either expand at their existing locations or move into new buildings to meet their operational needs.

The Village has had a long history of promoting local business expansions, such as the Morey Corporation, Home Run Inn Pizza, Wilton Industries, Hendrickson International, and Follett Educational Services.

Last year, Woodridge also experienced the relocation of several existing businesses into larger spaces within the village – which includes Intelligrated (designer, manufacture, and installer of complete material handling automation solutions), Indiana Sugars (manufacturer and distributor of sugar products), Personal Creations (manufacturer and distributor of customizable merchandise), Champion Packaging (manufacture and distributor of cleaning products), and Asli Finer Foods (distributor of food products).

When asked why they chose to stay in Woodridge, Vince Shah, President of Asli Finer Foods indicated that “Woodridge is a clean, safe and friendly place to work. It has easy access to all major highways and is perfectly located to expand business opportunities in developing suburbs of Illinois.”

This sentiment has been consistent with other businesses that have expanded their operations. These businesses are located within in the Village’s 10 business parks and light industrial areas that, combined, offer over 12 million square feet of warehouse and industrial space.

“Woodridge is always proud when businesses choose to remain within the community as they grow. It reinforces the strengths  of our dynamic and prosperous community, prime location at the crossroads of two major interstates (I-355 and I-55), and business-friendly climate” said Woodridge Mayor William Murphy.

The Village of Woodridge works vigorously to retain and expand existing businesses and to attract new ones. The result is a strong industrial base and a variety of retail activity - all key elements for a prosperous, healthy community.  If you are interested in expanding the operations of your business, contact the Village at (630) 420-4750.  You will find additional information about Woodridge’s economic development efforts and available development sites on the Village’s brand new website, by visiting www.vil.woodridge.il.us and clicking “Economic Development.”
