Local Favorite Cabana Charley's Closes

The tiki bar, open since 2008, officially closed its doors earlier this week.

The paper umbrella has closed for Cabana Charley’s Tiki Bar in Woodridge.

The restaurant, which featured a tiki bar theme, officially closed on Monday, according to Nick Kyriazes, an associate with The Alter Group, the leasing agents for Main Street at Seven Bridges development.

While the business closed on Monday, Kyriazes said multiple restaurant chains have shown interest in the location at 6315 Main St., but for now the space is available.

Kyriazes didn't say why the business had closed.

Calls to the restaurant were not answered. The business’ website is still up and running, showing events on the calendar. Cabana Charley’s Facebook page is no longer in service.

Located in the Main Street at Seven Bridges development, the restaurant and bar opened in 2008. The restaurant offered American fare with an island twist, according to the restaurant’s business listing on Woodridge Patch. A local favorite, it was a Woodridge Patch Readers’ Choice Winner in 2012, when it tied with Tilted Kilt and Buffalo Wild Wings for best sports bar.

A Cabana Charley’s in Sycamore remains open, but it has different ownership than the Woodridge location, according to an employee at the Sycamore location.
