Happy Birthday, Woodridge Patch!

To honor the day, check out my Welcome Video from last year to the right.

Someone asked me last year if there would be enough going on in Woodridge to support a daily news site.

That has never been an issue since we launched on Sept. 13, 2010.

As of right now, there are 2,242 articles on Woodridge Patch. That's an average of 6 per day for the past 365 days.

There's been and that touched down at Downers Grove South High School. We covered the of the village trustees, the library and District 68 and District 99. Last month, a .

We profiled our local veterans, teacher, administrators, business owners, community leaders and residents. We've covered high school sports, village meetings, District 68, District 99, the Woodridge Park District, Homecoming, Prom, graduation and more.

We did a , charting its nutritional value and comparing it with other districts and even fast food restaurants.

And who could forget that turned out to be fake?

We've worked hard, the site has improved, and it will continue to improve.

A year ago, the responsibility of running Woodridge Patch was overwhelming. What would we have our own site each day? How would people know we were here?

The support the site has received since has touched my heart.

I want to thank all of our readers for your attention, your comments and your feedback. Our biggest stories have come from your news tips.
