Village of Woodridge

According to Jack Knight, management analyst for the village of Woodridge, said the village has a “Green Team” that identifies eco-friendly practices the village should be involved with.

One example is the holiday lights recycling program, in which the village collected 1,500 pounds of lights for recycling this past winter. The team also promotes recycling and energy conservation in village buildings with internal e-mails, and green cleaning products are used in these buildings.

The village is looking into electronic copies of its board packet.

The village has also looked into using an asphalt-based emulsion sealcoat to seal bike paths at a lesser cost without the environmental concerns of sealcoats with coal tar.
