Patch Picks: Not-For-Profits

We list five great local not-for-profits right here in Woodridge.

This week Patch picked five local not-for-profits located right in Woodridge. For more information on how you could join, donate, volunteer or assist with any of these organizations, please visit their website.

  • Woodridge Junior Woman's Club: This local organization supports charities in Woodridge and the greater DuPage County by collecting school supplies for Woodridge, humanitarian service projects, collecting food for families during Thanksgiving and Christmas and providing a scholarship each year.
  • : Located right in Woodridge, this not-for-profit collected 1.2 million pounds of food for DuPage County residents in 2010 alone. In addition, they offer free educational programs with topics including parenting, GED preparation and English as a Second Language.
  • Woodridge Lions Club: Since 1969, the Woodridge Lions Club has been helping the community by doing such good deeds as offering free eye exams, giving children in need free eyeglasses and collecting recycled hearing aids and glasses for those in need.
  • : This club is devoted to benefitting children in the Woodridge area by holding food drives and doing several fundraising projects.
  • Keep Green Space Green: This group is working hard to promote the idea of preserving the green in the Woodridge community. Visit their website to volunteer or petition.
