The Darien location of Smashburger is now open. It's located on 75th Street just east of Lemont Road intersection. The restaurant is in the same shopping strip as Caribou Coffee, Panda Express and AT&T. Check out the link for Darien Patch's preview and check out a review of the restaurant here.

3. Teens invited to library group 

  invites teens in 7th through 12th grades to eat, meet and discuss. It's called GOAT, and the meeting will go from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

4. Village Board meeting at 7:30 p.m. 

The bi-monthly meeting will take place tonight at Village Hall starting at 7:30 p.m. Items on the agenda:

  • Raising water consumption, wastewater service and bi-monthly customer service charges
  • Purchasing an outdoor warning siren system (needed because Woodridge's emergency dispatch system is moving to DU-COMM)
  • Continue allowing DuPage County to conduct water meter readings to reduce costs/improve efficiency

5. Featured announcement: West Suburban Community Pantry Cabaret

The West Suburban Community Pantry raised $132,000 through its annual Cabaret Fundraiser on April 29. The response to the event's charity auction surpassed the pantry’s goal of $12,500 to feed school breakfast to 1,302 children every day in the 2011-2012 school year.
