Gina for Mayor Endorsements:
The mayoral campaign has allowed for much debate and for the most part, you have had to rely on the candidates as individuals or, on persons weighing in on the themes or topics offered for discussion. As a demonstration of my leadership style, I’d like to propose that we shift from candidate-sponsored communications and share the viewpoints of those who have knowledge of, or witnessed, our leadership capability, active volunteerism and history of service in Woodridge. To initiate this level of interaction, I want to publish some of the endorsements that have come in from individuals who may or may not reside in Woodridge (currently) however; their comments add value and give insight into how my candidacy is being received. More importantly, these endorsements add credibility to the candidate – they tell a story…
"Gina has been a leader in Woodridge for over 25 years. She is a business woman who has the leadership and passion to take Woodridge to the next level. I support Gina for Mayor."
Senator Kirk Dillard-Asst. Minority Leader
"I have worked with Gina Cunningham for many years as she has been a tremendous advocate for the community of Woodridge. Gina will be a champion for children and seniors, just as she has been for all of the years we have worked together on important issues. Gina will be a Mayor who can hit the ground running and keep Woodridge moving in the right direction."
Patti Bellock-State Representative-Asst. Minority Leader
"It has been my pleasure to serve Woodridge for over 32 years. It's important that we select a leader who will champion the high quality of life we expect in our community. That is why I am supporting Gina Cunningham for Mayor. Gina has the experience and passion to lead Woodridge, she will be a great Mayor!" (Note: Text of full endorsement to appear separately On Thursday's PATCH.)
William Murphy -Mayor of Woodridge
"Gina has been a public servant long before being elected to public office. Whether it was volunteering at her church or at the food pantry or her civic leadership as a woman in business serving the Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce, Gina has always been a leader for the people of Woodridge. She has a proven record of leadership and will make an excellent Mayor!!
Peter "Pete" DiCianni-DuPage County Board
“Having spent my entire police career in Woodridge (from patrolman to Chief), I have enjoyed the opportunity to get to know you as a business-woman, Village Trustee, and a fellow Rotarian. I know your heart is true and you genuinely care about Woodridge, its businesses, and its residents. I wish you luck in your campaign, and will be following the news from afar.”
Geoff Korous, Retired Chief of Police-Village of Woodridge
I am proud of our community, proud of my work history and service opportunities within Woodridge, but I am mostly thankful for the support received and pledge to lead in a manner that invites respectful discussion as a
means of addressing community initiatives, exploring innovative possibilities to enhance quality of life and to engage all Woodridge residents and businesses, as partners in the governance process.
