Hickey Demands Foster Give Full Disclosure of Past Domestic Violence Complaints

Congress Candidate Bill Foster's Ex Wife had the Court Remove Him from their home. Kane County Court Records, Under Oath "Bill Foster, Pushed, Shoved, and Physically Harmed".

Hickey Demands Foster give full disclosure of past domestic violence complaints

11th Congressional District – 11th Congressional District Candidate Jim Hickey Wednesday called on rival Bill Foster to “come clean” on his past and explain charges of domestic violence.

Hickey said that all of the candidates for congress have “skeletons in their closet.”

Last month, provoked by Foster, media detailed bankruptcy filings by Hickey. Foster has also pointed fingers at candidate Juan Thomas whose law license was suspended for 90-days.

“And now I think that Mr. Foster has some explaining to do himself. I believe Foster was behind the reports last month which detailed my filing bankruptcy after my business failed,” Hickey said.

“Yet, while both Mr. Thomas and I have had to defend these events in our lives, so far Foster has not given an accounting of the charges that were filed against him for domestic violence.”

Hickey criticized the media saying that they failed to do their due diligence to inform the public about the skeletons in Foster’s closet.

“The citizens in the old 14th District know about it, many newspapers covered this during Foster’s loss for re-election of his congressional seat.  That is probably why Foster moved to a new district to try to hide from his past.  If Foster thinks for a moment that Judy Biggert will not use it against him, he better think again,” Hickey said.

Details of the Foster’s divorce given under oath are a part of the Kane County Circuit Court records. Illinois law states “a person commits perjury when, under oath or affirmation, in a proceeding or in any other matter where by law such oath or affirmation is required, he makes a false statement, material to the issue or point in question, which he does not believe to be true.” Perjury is a Class 3 felony, with a possible prison term of between two and five years.

A motion filed in Circuit Court in Kane County by Foster’s then-wife Ann claimed, under oath, that Bill Foster “pushed, shoved and caused physical abuse and emotional harm…putting her in fear for herself (and the couple’s) minor children.”

Ann Foster asked the court to remove her husband from the home they shared, and that the court “issue a temporary restraining order against (Bill Foster) from calling, harassing or touching (Ann Foster).”

“How can we have a person represent us in US Congress that has committed Domestic Violence against his wife. Bill Foster has no chance to Beat Judy Biggert with this information in the public,” Hickey said.

Hickey said that Foster may be the wealthiest candidate running in the 11th District, but he is the weakest morally and ethically.

“Bill Foster didn’t even vote until he became a congressman. According to Kane County, Illinois, voting records, Foster didn’t vote in the 2006, 2005, 2003, 2002 or 2001 general elections. But he wants us to think he is looking out for us,” Hickey said.

“I think the public deserves to know the details of the conduct of the people they entrust to represent them in Congress. I am willing to put my experience of bankruptcy against Bill Foster’s past history of domestic violence and let the public decide. But I think that the media has a responsibility to not play favorites and inform the public fully about all of the issues and all of the backgrounds of all of the candidates.”
