Thank You Woodridge

Congratulations Gina and thank you to everyone that took the time to get out and vote yesterday.

Yesterday we found out the Gina Cunningham-Picek will be the new Mayor of Woodridge. My congratulations go out to her on her victory and I wish her well in her new position. I also want to thank Mayor Murphy for his many years of service to Woodridge and wish him well as he hands the gavel over to Gina.

I want to thank all of you that supported me in my efforts as well. There are so many people that I need to thank and you will be hearing from me personally. I can't tell you how grateful and humbled I am by the support I received. I met a lot of wonderful people and had a great time doing it. While the results may not be what we wanted I wouldn't have changed anything that we did during our campaign. This was a great experience and I learned a lot from it.

There were many people that participated in a local election for the first time. I hope all of you stay involved in what goes on locally as this is where the important stuff happens. We need to get even more of our residents interested and engaged in what's going on. We need to make it easier for them to get the information they need to make informed choices on those running for office. And we need to get more people to run for local office.

The election is over and we now go back to being friends and neighbors. We can concentrate on working together to make Woodridge even better than it is now. I look forward to continuing to do what I can. Thanks again to those of you that voted yesterday - all of you.
