Janice Marron Remembered as Tenderhearted, Giggly, Patient
Com Ed co-worker recalls friend who was killed Feb. 28 after being struck by car on Hobson Road.
Tammy England met Janice Marron in 1989 at ComEd in the engineering department.
Below, England shares her memories of Marron, at the age of 51 after being struck by a car on Hobson Road. Her funeral was held last weekend. There have been no charges in the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
"Janice was very devoted to her son, Michael. She also took her job seriously so she could provide for him without being dependent on others.
"Her heart was so big that when her son started dating his now wife, Janice watched her little boy all the time. She loved Caiden like her own son. Then Michael got married and moved away. It was really hard on her, but she pressed on with love and sadness in her heart.

"She filled the void with so many activities - night school, driving anywhere she had a whim to go and exercise. She enjoyed going to hockey games, plays, the movies, bike riding, walking and clothes shopping.
"Her father died fairly young and her mom had a hard time. She was always there for her family when possible. When her mother became ill and had to go into a nursing home, Janice visited her mom in the home three times a week. She was a caring daughter.
"She worked in the call center at ComEd many years, and I'm sure if the callers knew they were talking with Janice they, too, would say it was a pleasant experience dealing with her. She carried joy and concern in her voice. She enjoyed talking and interacting with people.
"In closing, her memory book on Legacy.com shows a small percentage of what people thought of her. One man put it best, 'I only met this sweet lady once, and that is all it took ...' Janice was tenderhearted, giggly, courteous, approachable, patient, fearful, lonely, loving, sweet and thoughtful.
"One hell of a human being that touched your spirit in a very happy way. She never let any personal sadness get in the way of her job, friends or others."
