The former Woodridge resident graduated from Northern Illinois and was a teacher and librarian.

Barbara Lou Hickey, formerly of Woodridge, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013. She was 77.

She is survived by her three daughters: Karen Hickey Vernon, June Smith and Alice Ferrari; and seven grandchildren.
Mrs. Hickey was a teacher and librarian and graduated from Northern Illinois University. She lived in Woodridge, IL, as well as Florida and New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother and her husband, Donald Hickey. Mrs. Hickey was a member of Bella Vista Baptist Church in New Mexico.
Services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at 3 p.m. at French – Lomas, with Monty Roach officiating. There will be a reception following the services.
