39 Citations Issued in St. Patrick's Day Roadblock

Citations ranged from no insurance to DUI.

The Lisle and issued 39 citations during a safety checkpoint conducted on St. Patricks' Day. 

The department set up a roadblock from 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. March 17 along Route 53. 

The following citations were issued:

  • 26 no insurance
  • 6 no valid driver's license
  • 2 driving while license was suspended
  • 2 child seat violations
  • 1 DUI 
  • 1 possession of marijuana 
  • 1 possession of drug paraphernalia

Roadside safety checkpoints are conducted to promote the safety and well-being of the motoring public and to provide a deterrent for those who might violate the Illinois Vehicle Code, according to a police release.

Police checked for those who are operating a motor vehicle with defective equipment, driving without a valid driver’s license, non compliance with the safety seat belt laws, operating uninsured vehicles or driving under the influence of any intoxicating substance.
