Darien-Woodridge Fire Department Collecting Supplies for U.S. Troops

The Darien-Woodridge Fire Department is partnering with Local 3437 for 'Operation Support Our Troops,' a project to send needed supplies overseas during the month of October.

The Darien-Woodridge Fire District and the Darien Woodridge Professional Firefighters Association Local 3437 are again joining forces in Operation Support Our Troops—America (OSOT,) which is a volunteer-based 501c3 organization. The Fire District will serve as a collection point for supplies to be sent overseas during the month of October.

OSOT stays in direct contact with the troops overseas, and notes the items that the troops are requesting. They then collect those supplies and send 25-pound packages to individual military personnel.

A list of items being requested is available at each Darien-Woodridge fire station, which also will serve as a drop off point. Each fire vehicle also will have lists to give out to the public.
