DUI's, Car Damage Most Prevalent Woodridge Crimes in 2011
We compiled every police blotter from last year. See which other crimes were most prevalent.
Incidents of driving under the influence were most reported by the in 2011, according to Woodridge police reports.
There were 65 DUI incidents reported. Car damage was the second most-reported crime with 46 incidents and thefts from Kohl's, 1001 75th St., was third with 43 reported incidents.
Every week, Woodridge Patch posts the most recent police blotter from the Woodridge Police Department. By compiling the data from each of our reports from 2011, we found which crimes were most reported last year.

The police blotter is prepared by the police department and does not include traffic charges. While charges were made in some of the instances, these charges could have been dropped at a later date.
Thefts from car were fourth-most prevalent with 43 incidents. In many of these incidents, a car window or windshield had been broken, as well. Car damage when a theft occurred was not double-counted in the car damage category.

In terms of retail thefts, Kohl's was reportedly the most popular spot. Target, 2333 63rd St., was the second most targeted, according to police reports, with 24 incidents of theft reported. Six incidents were reported at Jewel-Osco, 2317 75th St., and four at Dominick's, 2363 63rd St.
Five businesses were broken into in 2011:
- Los Arcos Taqueria, 7451 Woodward Ave., #105
- InStyle Hair Salon and Day Spa, 7451 Woodward Ave., #106
- Love Nails, 7440 Woodward Ave.
- Jimmy John's, 6325 Main St.
- Dunkin Donuts, 1920 87th St.
There were 34 reported incidents in which property was stolen outside of a residence. Examples include a scooter, a trailer and a bench.
Nineteen thefts occurred within residences, in which jewelry, money, electronics or other items were stolen.
Two homicides took place in 2011: in 3 Plover Court and in the 2500 block of Meadowdale Lane.
