Fire Destroys Home in Bittersweet Court Last Week

Woodridge police reports, Oct. 31.

A Woodridge home was destroyed in a fire last week, police reported. 

Police and fire officials responded to a call at about 1:30 a.m. Oct. 31 in the 0-100 block of Bittersweet Court.

The home was full of thick smoke and the second floor was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. According to police, no one was in the home.

Residents in the neighboring unit were safely evacuated. Their home suffered extensive water and fire damage. The home where the fire originated was a "near total loss," police said.
