Gunman in Gas Station Robbery Sought by Police

An armed man dressed in a black hoodie robbed the gas station near 87th Street and Woodward Avenue on Tuesday, police said.

Police are searching for gunman who robbed the Shell gas station Tuesday night.

At about 9:49 p.m. Tuesday, a man wearing an Adidas hoodie pulled over his head and carrying a black semi-auto handgun walked behind the employee counter, demanding money and cigarettes, police said. The man then fled on foot westbound from the station, which is near the intersection of 87th Street and Woodward Avenue.

No one was hurt in the armed robbery, police.

The gunman is described as a black male who is suspected in other armed robberies is DuPage and Cook counties, police said. All the of the robberies involve similar circumstances.
