Hinsdale Police Arrest Woodridge Man for Relieving Himself on Train Tracks

Police say the incident happened in the middle of the afternoon with several people around.

Hinsdale police arrested a Woodridge man for urinating on the train tracks in the middle of the afternoon at the main train in Hinsdale. Police received a call from a witness and responded within 10 minutes.

"It occurred during a time when there were a lot of pedestrians present," said Hinsdale Deputy Police Chief Mark Wodka. "We received a call from a witness who observed the suspect urinating on the train tracks and called 9-1-1."

The man boarded a train that pulled into the station as officers responded, but Wodka said that the witness was able to give officers such a detailed description of the man, that they were able to board the train and locate him. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

Wodka said there were no signs that the man was under the influence of alcohol, drugs or had any type of mental illness.

"There were no signs of any valid, plausible reason for him to take the actions that he chose in our downtown area," said Wodka. "It's unfortunate that this man chose to do this at a time when there were a lot of people present—particularly with a lot of public restrooms available in the immediate vicinity."
