Illegal Pills Found After DUI Accident: Police Blotter

FRIDAY, NOV. 16

DUI Accident, Controlled Substance

Eimantas Giniunas, 21, of the 8200 block of Geneva Street in Woodridge, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, improper lane use and leaving the roadway after driving his car off the road at Plainfield and Redondo in Darien and crashing when two tires popped, police said. 

Police said Giniunas smelled like alcohol and refused testing. He was given a Dec. 24 court date. A passenger in the car, 18-year-old Dawn M. Alexander, told police she was drinking and was charged with illegal consumption by a minor. She then told police she had illegal prescription drugs that didn't belong to her hidden in her bra. She was also charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and was taken to DuPage County Jail.

TUESDAY, NOV. 13

Retail Theft

Tammy I. Fox, 53, of the 7800 block of Woodridge Drive in Woodridge, was charged with retail theft. Police said that while she was in the Walmart at 2189 75th St. in Darien, Fox put several cosmetic items under her purse in a shopping cart and tried to leave the store without paying. The value of the items was $66.42. She was given a local ordinance citation and will appear in court.

SUNDAY, OCT. 28

DUI Charge

Samuel Kissi-Baah, 45, of the 8000 block of Willow Wood Way in Woodridge, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and improper lane usage. Police said he was driving erratically and going 55 mph in a 40-mph zone along Lemont Road at 3 a.m. After stopping him, police said Kissi-Baah smelled of alcohol and had red, glassy eyes. He refused a Breathalyzer and was given a Dec. 4 court date. 

THURSDAY, OCT. 25 

Criminal Trespass

William J. Belle Jr., 49, of the 2400 block of Pheasant Street in Woodridge, was charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle in the 1100 block of 69th Street. The victims of the burglary, who know Belle, told police they saw him in their car at 12:30 p.m.. He was given a Dec. 4 court date.
