Lisle-Woodridge Fire Department Raises Funds for Breast Cancer Research

You can buy the department's pink T-shirts for $15 each this week at Jewel-Osco.

The together with Firefighters Union, IAFF Local 2986 will be participating in a Cancer Awareness and fundraising campaign through Saturday, Oct. 22.

The Lisle-Woodridge Firefighters are joining members of the International Association Fire Fighters throughout the United States and Canada during October (National Breast Cancer Awareness Month) to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure.

On-duty firefighters, officers, and administrative personnel will be wearing specially designed pink t-shirts in place of their regular work uniform shirts.

The same pink t-shirts will be sold to the public for $15 each. T-shirts can be purchased through the end of the month at Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
