No One Injured in Woodridge Cooking Fire Sunday

Emergency personnel responded to a fire in a Woodridge apartment complex early Sunday.

No one was injured in a Woodridge apartment fire that broke out early Sunday morning. 

The responded to an activated fire alarm around 6:31 a.m. to an apartment complex in the 6600 block of Double Eagle Drive, according to a press release. 

Two residents were home at the time of the fire, the press release said, which started in an apartment kitchen. One resident was frantic, the release said. The other was asleep and unaware of his surroundings. Both were taken to a safe area.

Emergency personnel found the apartment sprinkler system confined the fire to the kitchen stove. Unattended cooking was detemined to be the cause of the fire.

Three apartments were deemed uninhabitable after the fire.
