OMG PD: Beer Bust, Smoke Break, Grooming Gone Wrong

Here's a round-up of recent and bizarre police report items from the area.

Beer Bust

Jon R. Doane, 25, of the 23800 block of 126th Street in Trevor, WI, was arrested around 1:03 a.m. in the 1200 block of Butterfield Road, police said.

Officers were dispatched to a bar on Butterfield Road after Doane was kicked out and began "causing problems" when he wasn't allowed back in with his friends, police said. The report indicated Doane was "highly intoxicated."

According to police, Doane punched an outdoor advertising sign after he was refused admittance, causing damage. He continued to yell at staff, and threw part of his Halloween costume—a pair of hard-plastic breasts filled with beer, police said.

The breasts struck the hood of a 2002 Mercedes SUV, police said.

Officers were able to locate Doane in the parking lot. He was wearing a German beer maiden costume, police said.

Doane was charged with criminal damage to property.

Guy Leaves Hospital with IV

The Adventist La Grange emergency room advised police at 6:47 p.m. that one of their patients had walked out of the hospital with an IV in his arm “to smoke a cigarette off campus somewhere.” The patient, a 37-year-old North Riverside resident, was later located by North Riverside police and advised to return to the ER to have his IV removed.

Peed on My Garage

Police responded at 5:27 p.m. to the 100 block of Hayes Avenue where a woman was reporting that she had confronted a homeless man urinating on her garage. Police gave the man a warning for criminal damage to property and told him to stay away in the future.

Homeless to Hotel

According to John Cooper, deputy police chief for the City of Darien, police were called to investigate the report of a suspicious person pushing five shopping carts down the road Tuesday afternoon.

“The subject was homeless and had some issues,” Cooper said in an email. “He wanted to go to a hotel. We tried to get him a cab, but he had too much stuff. We got a pickup truck and took him to a hotel in Bolingbrook.”

Cooper said police returned the shopping carts to a nearby Target store. The man was not arrested or charged.

Someone stole $500 worth of clippers, shears and other tools from the pet spa Velvet Touch, 110 Chestnut St., between 3 p.m. Nov. 6 and 12 p.m. Nov. 8.

I've seen that homeless guy and his sweet shopping carts on Route 83 in Willowbrook. Well I'm assuming it was him. I cant imagine there being that many homeless people with Target carts in the area. Wonder if the cart guy and the garage urinator know each other.

Well, it looks like they've got it figured out. What do we do with the homeless guys? Just get a pickup truck and take 'em to Bolingbrook.
