OMGPD: Theft Suspect Back for More?

Odd, quirky and sometimes just plain weird crime reports from around the area.

Theft Suspect Back for More?

Amber Renee Lancaster, 25, of the 300 block of West Hubbard Street, Chicago, was arrested at 4:20 p.m. at Von Maur, 3810 E. Main St., on a charge of retail theft. The report states that Lancaster left the store without paying for a wallet, a pair of earrings and some cosmetics with a combined value of $261. She posted $150 cash bond and a $50 booking fee and was released pending a Jan. 23, 2014 appearance in Kane County Branch Court. According to the report, Lancaster told police that on other prior occasions she had stolen items totaling $665.99 in value and had entered into a civil agreement to reimburse Von Maur for those items

Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.
