“Drug dealers continue to be the scourge of society,” Berlin said. “They enrich their own lives at the expense of others. I would like to thank DuMeg for their relentless efforts in getting drug dealers off our streets. I would also like to thank the DEA, the Glen Ellyn, Addison and Lombard Police Departments as well as Assistant State’s Attorneys Audrey Anderson and Nick Catizone for their work on this case.”

Garcia’s co-defendants whose cases are still pending include Luis Sanchez of Chicago, Oscar Colin of Cicero, Venustiano Calderon of Lombard and Salma Sanchez-Hernandez of Cicero. Marciano Diaz and Luz Vidal, both of Chicago have each entered a plea of guilty and been sentenced.

Members of the public are reminded that the complaints against all defendants whose cases are still pending contain only charges and are not proof of the defendants’ guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent and are entitled to a fair trial in which it is the government’s burden to prove their guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
