Police Blotter: Burglaries, Thefts, DUI's

Multiple thefts from homes, car windows shattered, possession of firearm ammunition and more reported from Dec. 19-23.

Dec. 23 

Driving under the influence 

Margaret Denig, 56, from 6357 Greene Rd., was arrested around midnight and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage following an accident near the intersection of 63rd Street and I-355, police said.

Driving under the influence 

Elliard Lay, 32, from 4500 Beau Monde Dr. in Lisle, was arrested around 1:40 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving without a valid driver’s license and speeding following a traffic stop in the 7700 block of Route 53, police said.

Dec. 22 

Thefts from Kohl's 

Karla Quintana, 21, and Alfredo Lucero, 20, both from 7601 Orchard Ln., were arrested around 6:45 p.m. and charged with retail theft after they removed various items from , 1001 75th St., police said. 

iPad stolen from car 

Someone damaged the driver’s side window of a vehicle and removed an iPad from a car in the parking lot in the 6600 block of Route 53 between 9 p.m. and 10:15 p.m., police said. 

Dec. 21 

Theft from Kohl's 

Jacob Sibrava, 21, from 300 Park St. in Westmont, was arrested around 3 p.m. and charged with retail theft after he removed jewelry from Kohl’s, 1001 75th St., police said.

Possession of firearm ammunition 

Amos Chapman, 30, from 2130 Prentiss Creek Dr. in Downers Grove, was arrested around 10 p.m. and charged with possession of firearm ammunition following a traffic stop near the intersection of Woodward Avenue and 75th Street, police said. 

Holiday lights damaged 

Someone damaged holiday lights on the exterior of a home in the 7900 block of Iroquois Court overnight, police said. 

Dec. 20 

Car window shattered

Someone shattered the front driver’s side window of a car in the 2400 block of Forest Drive around 6:30 p.m., police said.

Back windshield shattered 

Someone smashed the back windshield of a car with an unknown object in the 7300 block of Woodward Avenue between midnight and 10:20 p.m., police said.

Dec. 19 

Burglary 

Someone took various electronic items from an apartment in the 3200 block of Fox Drive between 5 p.m. on Dec. 19 and 10:15 a.m. on Dec. 21, police said. 

Driving under the influence 

Jesus Soto, 24, from 1440 Willow Ln. in Westmont, was arrested around 9 a.m. and charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transport of alcoholic liquor, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended following a traffic stop near the intersection of Jonquil Lane and Chestnut Avenue, police said. 

Driving under the influence 

Laura Nevrenchan, 34, from 3236 83rd St., was arrested around 11:45 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 3200 block of 83rd Street, police said. 

Gas grill stolen from balcony 

Someone removed a gas grill from the balcony of an apartment in the 2200 block of Country Club Drive in the overnight hours, police said. 

Electronics, jewelry stolen from home 

Someone removed various electronic and jewelry items from a home in the 8400 block of Mending Wall Drive between 4 p.m. on Dec. 9 and 8 a.m. on Dec. 19, police said.
