Police Blotter: Car Burglaries, Thefts from Target
Car stereos stolen, tires stolen or punctured, car hood keyed and more in this week's police blotter.
Jan. 11
Car burglary
Someone shattered the passenger side window of a vehicle and removed the car’s stereo system between 1 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. in the 8100 block of Route 53, said.

Someone shattered the driver’s side window of a car and removed a car’s stereo system between 10 p.m. on Jan. 10 and noon on Jan. 11 in the 2100 block of Apple Lane, police said.

Theft from Target
Kristen Arbor, 44, from 2217 Arbor Cir., was arrested around 2 p.m. and charged with retail theft after she removed several movies from Target, 2333 63rd St., police said.
Tire stolen
Someone removed the spare tire located on the back of a car between 8 a.m. on Jan. 11 and 4 p.m. on Jan. 11 in the 2300 block of 75th St., police said.
Jan. 10
Snow markers stolen
Someone removed six snow markers located between the curb and the parkway in a resident’s front yard between 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 and 7 a.m. on Jan. 10 in the 3400 block of Parkside Drive, police said.
Tire punctured
Someone punctured the rear driver’s side tire between 3 p.m. on Jan. 9 and 7 a.m. on Jan. 10 in the 7900 block of Woodlyn Drive, causing the tire to deflate, police said.
Jan. 9
Driving under the influence
At approximately 8:30 p.m., Suzy Mazur, 49, from 5927 Brookbank Rd., Downers Grove, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop near the intersection of 75th Street and Gladstone Drive.
Car window shattered, car stereo stolen
Someone shattered the front and rear driver’s side windows and removed a car stereo in the 2500 block of Forest Drive between 10 p.m. on Jan. 8 and 8 a.m. on Jan. 9, police said.
Car hood keyed
Someone keyed the hood of a car in the 8000 block of Janes Avenue around 9:30 p.m., police said.

Car windshield shattered
Someone shattered the rear windshield of a vehicle in the 7800 block of Janes Avenue between 3 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., police said.
Jan. 6
$7,000 theft from Target
Carlos Adraneda, 29, from 5016 Wright Terrace in Skokie, was arrested around 11:07 a.m. and charged with retail theft after he attempted to remove several items from Target, 2333 63rd St., police said.
Upon further discussion with Target security, police officers discovered Mr. Adraneda had stolen items from the Target store in Bolingbrook, as well, and that he had been under investigation by Target for several weeks.
Further investigation revealed Mr. Adraneda to have stolen more than $6,676 worth of items from various Target stores in the Chicago area. Officers were granted felony approval for charges against Mr. Adraneda.

Theft from Sam's Club
Nicole Nicholson, 39, from 5505 Belmont Rd in Downers Grove, was arrested around 8:20 p.m. and charged with retail theft after she removed several items from Sam’s Club in the 7300 Woodward Ave., police said.
