Substance put in gas tank

Someone put an unknown substance in the gas tank of a car, damaging the fuel line, in the 2500 block of Waterbury Drive around 11 a.m., police said. 

Aggravated driving under the influence, aggravated driving while license suspended, driving uninsured motor vehicle, endangering the life or health of a child

Melbernice Devers, 29, from the 7200 block of Woodward Avenue, was arrested around 9:45 p.m. and charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving while license is suspended, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and endangering the life or health of a child following a traffic stop in the 1500 block of 75th Street, police said.

April 17

Theft from Kohl’s

Liborina Lopez, 35, from the 2400 block of Concord, was arrested around 10:30 a.m. and charged with retail theft after she removed several items from Kohl’s, 1001 75th St., police said.

Jacqueline Kamin, 47, from the 7900 block of Knottingham Circle in Darien, was arrested around 6 p.m. and charged with retail theft after she removed various items from Kohl’s, 1001 75th St., police said. 

April 15

Battery 

Martin Velazquez, 30, from the 6700 block of Vail Lane, was arrested around 1:15 p.m. and charged with battery following an incident at the Seven Bridges Ice Arena, police said.

Driving under the influence

Philip Pajewski, 36, from the 12000 block of S. Laport in Alsip, was arrested around 1:25 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop near the intersection of Hobson Road and Walnut Avenue, police said.

Cash stolen from purse at St. Scholastica

Someone removed an unknown amount of cash from an employee’s purse at St. Scholastica around 3:40 p.m., police said.  

April 13 

Multiple items stolen from multi-family complex

Over the past two weeks, someone has stolen several items from the multi-family complex in the 2200 block of 64th Street, including bikes and a gas grill, police said.
