July 23

Gas theft

Someone pumped $35 worth of gas and drove off without paying for it at 4 p.m. at Thornton’s Gas located in the 2400 block of 63rd Street, police said.

Stolen bike

Someone stole a bike parked in front of a residence between 6 and 7 p.m. in the 7700 block of Woodward Avenue, police said.

July 24

Tools taken from vehicle

Someone stole various tools, valued at $5,000, from a vehicle at about 3 a.m. in the 7200 block of Woodward Avenue, police said. Reports state the passenger side lock of the vehicle was damaged during the burglary.

Retail theft

Robert Owarcz, 38, 714 Roof Ave., Romeoville, was charged with retail theft after he removed a watch at about 11:40 p.m. from Kohl’s in the 1000 block of 75th Street, police said.

Motorcycle stolen

Someone stole a motorcycle between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the 2400 block of Forest Drive, police said.

Soliciting without a permit

Samir Assa, 32, 665 Gunderson, Carol Stream and Steven Martin, 27, 113 Aurora St., West Chicago, were both charged with soliciting without a permit at about 8:15 p.m. in the 2000 block of Country Club Lane, police said.

July 25

Soliciting violation

Enrique Huerta, 21, 113 Aurora St., West Chicago, was charged with soliciting without a permit and warrant service and Darius Warren, 24, 526 Carriage Drive, West Chicago, was charged with soliciting without a permit at about 8:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Ridge Street, police said.

Retail theft

Joseph Wagner, 19, from 5918 Elm Street, Woodridge, was charged for retail theft after stealing three bottles of alcoholic liquor at about 8 p.m. from Dominick’s in the 2300 block of 63rd Street, police said.

Playground tagged with graffiti

Someone tagged a playground with graffiti at about 4 p.m. at Janes Avenue Park located in the 7900 block of Janes Avenue, police said.

Items stolen from home

Someone stole $7,000 worth of items, including jewelry, from a home between 6:30 and 10:30 p.m. in the 8300 block of Frost Court, police said.

iPod stolen from vehicle

Someone stole an iPod and other items from a vehicle between 8 a.m. July 25 and 2 p.m. July 26 in the 7300 block of Woodward Avenue, police said.

Underpass tagged with graffiti

Someone tagged an underpass with graffiti at about 2:30 p.m. at Lake Harriet, police said.

July 29

DUI

Gary Gorski, 51, 1631 Arborwood Drive, Romeoville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at about 12:40 a.m. near the intersection of Route 53 and Concorde Drive, police said.

Stolen vehicle

Someone stole a vehicle parked in the lot of an apartment complex between 6:45 p.m. July 28 and 11:30 a.m. July 29 in the 7300 block of Woodward Avenue, police said.
