Police Blotter: Man Steals $2K in Jewelry From Home
Darien police reported a home burglary and retail theft and arrested Woodridge residents in connection with the incidents.

Retail Theft
Kishann L. Humphrey, 19, of the 2500 block of Crystal Court in Woodridge, was charged with retail theft. Police said Humphrey walked into the Jewel store, 7335 Cass Ave., at 8:15 p.m. with an empty backpack. An officer in the store noticed Humphrey leaving the store with two bottles of alcohol in his bag. The total value was $30.94. He was given an ordinance citation and has a pending court date.

Jewelry Stolen
Joel D. Bessa, 20, of the 7600 block of Deerfield in Woodridge, was arrested on a theft warrant at 10:30 a.m. Police said Bessa stole numerous pieces of jewelry worth more than $2,000 from a home in the 7600 block of Adams. He was taken to DuPage County Jail and his court date is pending.
