Police Blotter: Thief Enters Apartment, Steals Jewelry

Two arrested following attempted theft of baby formula, parts stolen from van, car theft and more in the May 25-27 Woodridge police blotter.

May 27 

Apartment break-in, burglary 

Someone entered an apartment unit through the patio door and removed various items, including jewelry, between 4:30 p.m. and 9:35 p.m. in the 7900 block of Woodridge Drive, said.

Driving under the influence 

Carlo Martinez-Gomez, 44, from the 100 block of Delaware Drive in Bolingbrook, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop near the intersection of Route 53 and High Trail Drive, police said.

Retail theft, resisting a police officer, obstructing justice, aggravated battery, warrent service

Jennifer Faedtke, 28, from the 100 block of Briarcliff Road in Montgomery, was arrested around 4:45 p.m. and charged with retail theft, resisting a police officer, obstructing justice and warrant service after attempting to remove baby formula from Dominick’s, 2333 63rd St., police said. Gregory O’Brien, 29, from the 100 block of 66th Street in Westmont was also arrested and charged with aggravated battery after an altercation with a store employee, police said. 

May 26 

Parts stolen from van 

Someone removed several parts of a parked van, including the dome light, air filter, stereo, battery and fuse box between 7 p.m. on May 25 and 7 a.m. on May 26 in the 3000 block of Hobson Road, police said. 

GPA, wrench and multi-meter stolen from car

Someone stole a GPS unit, adjustable wrench and a snap-on multi-meter between 9:30 p.m. on May 25 and 9 a.m. on May 26 in the 2400 block of Emerald Court, police said. 

Side door keyed 

Someone keyed the driver’s side door of a car around 10 p.m. in the 7900 block of Woodlyn Drive, police said.

Retail theft from Kohl's 

Two juveniles from Darien were arrested around 5 p.m. and charged with retail theft after they removed several items from Kohl’s, 1001 75th St., police said. 

May 25 

Cell phone stolen outside post office 

Someone stole a cell phone that was mislaid outside of the Woodridge Post Office, 2 Plaza Drive, around 2:50 p.m., police said.

Anahi Ramirez-Juarez, 30, from the 500 block of Brookside Drive in Westmont, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. and charged with retail theft after she removed various items from Kohl’s, 1001 75th St., police said.
