Police: Lombard Man Charged with Stabbing BlackFinn Security Guard

A Lombard man and his Woodridge girlfriend were arrested early Sunday morning after an incident at the BlackFinn American Saloon.

A 31-year-old Lombard man was arrested early Sunday morning after police said he stabbed a bouncer at . His 25-year-old Woodridge girlfriend was also arrested after the altercation for obstructing justice, according to police.

Adam B. Hearn, of the 900 block of South Main Street in Lombard, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with great bodily harm, and possession of a weapon by a felon—all Class 3 felonies, according to a news release from .

At 1:32 a.m. Sunday, the Naperville police responded to the downtown Naperville bar for a report of a stabbing, according to the news release. Police met with bar employees who had wrestled Hearn to the ground and held him until police arrived.

Police say the trouble began when Hearn and his girlfriend, Kelly L. Cihlar, of the 2700 block of Mohawk Avenue in Woodridge, were allegedly found smoking in a bathroom. The couple were asked to go outside, according to the news release. At that point, Hearn became verbally abusive and security staff asked the couple to leave for the night, according to the news release.

“As security staff began to escort the couple out of the bar, a fight ensued between Hearn and a security guard,” according to the news release. “Hearn took out a knife from his pocket and stabbed the security guard in the abdomen.  Several other security guards arrived to the area and Hearn was subdued until police arrived.”

The bar’s employee was treated at the scene and transported to where he underwent surgery for his injuries overnight, according to the report. His condition was not known as of 9 a.m. Sunday morning.

During the initial investigation, Cihlar fought and obstructed responding officers, according to the release. Police said Cihlar was arrested and charged with obstruction of a police officer, resisting arrest, battery, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana—all misdemeanors.

Hearn was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
