Police Remove Meth Lab from Woodridge Apartment

The small lab was discovered Wednesday night when police served an arrest warrant, according to reports.

Local and state police removed from a Woodridge apartment Wednesday night, according to officers.

said they arrived at the Quarters in Woodridge apartment complex in the 8100 block of Route 53 around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to serve an arrest warrant for theft to Michael Dehlinger. The 22-year-old was taken into custody after attempting to flee and is being held on the arrest warrant at the DuPage County Jail, according to police.

While on the scene, police said they discovered drugs and drug paraphernalia inside the apartment, including a small meth lab.

The District Hazmat Team was called to the scene and determined the lab was not an immediate threat to others in the apartment building. 

Illinois State Police were also called to the scene and safely removed the lab.

The apartment has been determined uninhabitable due to chemical contamination. 

John Stark, 25, of the 2300 block of Lane Street in Topeka, also was arrested in connection with the incident and charged with Class X possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Stark was also taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Dehlinger is charged with theft, battery, resisting or obstructing a police officer and the unauthorized use of federal food stamps, according to the DuPage County Sheriff's website
