Police Report Four More Incidents of Car Burglary, Damage

Cases occur between May 19 and May 22.

Four more incidents of car burglaries or damage to a car have been reported, according to Woodridge police. 

Between May 19 and May 20, someone tried to pry open the door to three cars on Deer Road, damaging the windows. In one case, the person also removed a radio from the car. 

Two of these incidents, including the one where the radio was stolen, took place in the 7700 block of Deer Street. The third took place in the 3300 block of Deer Street.

These were the reported times of the incidents on Deer Street: 

  • 7700 block of Deer Street (window damaged, radio stolen): Between 6 p.m. on May 19 and 11 a.m. on May 20 
  • 7700 block of Deer Street (window damaged): Between 6 p.m. on May 19 and 11 a.m. on May 20 
  • 3300 block of Deer Street (window damaged): Between 6 a.m. on May 19 and 7:20 p.m. on May 20

Another car burglary was reported around 1 a.m. on May 22 in the 6600 block of Oak Tree Trail. Someone smashed the driver's side window of a car and took sunglasses, an I-Pass, an owner's manual and an insurance card.

Twenty-two other incidents of car burglary or damage were reported in late April and May. You can see where these incidents occurred on this map

Two individuals were arrested May 17 after they were seen going into unlocked cars in Woodridge, police said. 

Hung Diep, 28, from the 1000 block of College Avenue in Wheaton, was charged with burglary to a motor vehicle, police said. Christopher Brooks, 18, from the 7700 block of Woodward Avenue, was charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle, according to police.

The arrests were made around 1:25 a.m. on May 17.
