Police: Woodridge Men Tried to Steal Meat by Hiding It in Their Pants

Two Woodridge men were charged with stealing meat last week after police said they concealed it in their pants at a local grocery store.

Keith M. Burgs, 27, and Farrell P. Burgs, 29, both of Woodridge, were arrested and charged with retail theft around 3:28 p.m. Wednesday at Westbrook Market, 2065 63rdSt., in Downers Grove.

Police said an employee saw each man place a package of meat in their pants and start to leave the store. The two noticed the employee walking toward them and returned to the back of the store, according to reports.

Farrell Burgs was seen placing his package of meat back into the meat display and Keith Burgs left his package in another aisle, police said. The two were stopped by the employee and brought to the front office until police arrived, according to reports. Police said another employee also witnessed the incident.

The packages of meat were valued at $9.46.
